The daily summary in your auto service: what figures exist and what to track on top

The 4mygarage summary shows the state of your service right now: how many vehicles are active, how many orders are in progress, how many are ready for pick-up, how many cars are scheduled today and how much revenue the delivered orders brought in. It does not measure productivity per mechanic. Below is what each figure means and what you track separately.

What the summary shows

  • Active vehicles: cars registered as active in the service.
  • Active orders: all orders except delivered or cancelled.
  • In progress and ready: how many orders are in each status.
  • Scheduled today: cars with an order scheduled for the current day.
  • Revenue: the sum of delivered orders.

What the summary does not show

  • Hours worked per mechanic and productivity per hour.
  • Parts consumption over a period, or the remaining stock.
  • Average time per job, unless you note it yourself.

What you track separately, if you need it

  1. Note hours per mechanic in a table or a timesheet, if you want to calculate productivity.
  2. Check weekly the ratio between delivered and still open jobs.
  3. Compare revenue with the order totals, to catch jobs forgotten on a status.

How to read the figures

Revenue in the summary only includes delivered orders. A job that is ready but not yet delivered is not in revenue. Read the figures as the state of the day, not as a balance sheet.
