Analysis summary from work orders: aggregated indicators

How many orders were opened, what state they are in, which operations and parts come up most often and what the jobs cost: aggregated indicators from the work orders, without manual calculations.

In short: a service manager without an overview tends to decide on impressions. They assume a job is profitable when the orders show otherwise, or they miss that the same part keeps coming back. 4mygarage calculates an analysis summary from the work orders: how many orders were opened, what state they are in, which operations and parts come up most often and what the jobs cost, calculated from their lines. The vehicle history completes the picture. The summary shows what was done and what it cost, based on the data entered on the orders. It does not replace the workshop's accounting.

  • Number of work orders opened and their status, as of today.
  • Operations that come up most often on work orders.
  • Parts fitted most often, from the lines of the work orders.
  • Job cost, calculated from the lines of each order.
  • History of interventions for each vehicle: visits, jobs and parts fitted.
  • Vehicle file with the mileage noted at each visit.
  • Aggregated indicators across all orders, without a per-person report.
  • Summary that updates as work orders are opened and closed.

What the summary shows: orders, statuses and jobs

The analysis summary counts the work orders and groups them by status, so you can see how many jobs are open and how many are finished. It also shows the operations that come up most often, which are the typical jobs of the workshop. It is an overview calculated from the existing orders, not an estimate.

Cost and parts, from the order lines

The cost of each job is the sum of the lines on its order, and the summary adds these sums up. The parts fitted most often appear separately, with the number of times they occur on orders. This shows which jobs and which parts carry the highest cost, and which catalogue prices are worth checking.

Vehicle history, for decisions on each car

The overview is completed by each car's history: visits, jobs, parts and the mileage noted. If a car keeps coming back for the same problem, the history shows it. Deciding whether to change a job or a price remains the team's call; the product only brings the order data to the front.

Frequently asked questions

What indicators does the analysis summary show?

Work orders by status, the operations and parts that come up most often, the cost of jobs calculated from their lines, and vehicle histories. These are aggregated indicators across the orders.

How often is the summary updated?

As work orders are opened and closed, the summary reflects the new data.

What counts as the cost of a job?

The sum of its operation and part lines, each with its quantity and price. The summary takes these totals from the work orders.

What does a vehicle history contain?

The visits, work orders, parts fitted and the mileage noted at each visit, searched by registration number or VIN.

Does the summary include the parts used?

Yes. The parts fitted most often appear, taken from the lines of the work orders. The product does not track warehouse quantities.

Does the summary replace accounting?

No. It shows what was done and what the jobs cost, based on the order data. Accounting and tax documents remain outside the product.

Analysis summary for your auto service with 4mygarage

4mygarage shows an analysis summary calculated from work orders: aggregated indicators on the shop's interventions, without manual spreadsheets.

Pros

  • Vehicle card with registration number, VIN, make, model, year, mileage and the history of interventions.
  • Digital work orders: customer complaint, mileage at reception, scheduled date and a status that moves step by step.
  • Labour and parts lines on every work order, with quantity and price taken from your own catalogue.
  • Catalogue of operations and parts with default prices, used to fill in work orders.
  • Service reminders: the next due date is calculated from the last intervention, for the team.
  • Analysis summary calculated from work orders, with aggregated indicators for the shop.

Cons

We are transparent — here is where 4mygarage is not (yet) the best fit:

  • Not a DMS (Dealer Management System) for large dealerships with dozens of simultaneous users.
  • No integrated auto technical catalogue (EPC) — parts are added manually to your own catalogue.
  • Not a native mobile app for mechanics.
  • No integrations with auto diagnostic systems, ITP, RCA or external platforms.

Quick verdict

A fit for owners and managers who want an overview of their work orders. Has no productivity reports per mechanic and does not replace complex BI for service chains.
